Bridget Yanni founded the Amma Center for Bodywork and Massage in 2004. For over 10years she facilitated Massage Trainings, certifying over 50 individuals. In 2007 the Yoga Studio was added, since than Bridget has developed a therapeutic style of asana practice. in 2011 she put her style and philosophy into a 200 hr.Teacher Training Program that was approved through Yoga Alliance; In 2014, Bridget expanded the Teacher Training another 300 hrs for 'Advanced Yoga Therapeutics' also YA approved. "Ammayanni Yoga is my Life's offering; it is my gratitude for all of the Love and Care I've been given by Life."
Bridget works with students privately who are experiencing chronic discomfort or pain do to postural imbalances; she uses Ammayanni Yoga Therapy, a system of alignment yoga developed over her 20 years of Bodywork practice and study as well as her 10 years of practice and study of Yoga.
Recently Bridget recieved her Qualifications to Teach 'Interoception Yoga' a Style of Teaching developed by David Emersen to offer a complex stress relieving practice.
Karen DiCesari has been studying and teaching yoga for 15 years. Certified initially at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, she has completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training and continues to deepen her practice and study alongside many gifted teachers. Karen is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment and enjoys assisting students in finding a practice that keeps them feeling great on and off the mat. With a deep sense of gratitude she inspires and encourages students to challenge themselves in a fun and light hearted way.
Karen is still part of our team and due to changes in her full time job will not be teaching regularly for a while.
Jacob received his 200 hr Certification in Ammayanni Yoga level I. Jacob is committed to learning all there is to know about the deep, transformational, healing effects of Yoga, that he might share and contribute to the growth and evolution of his students. Jakes classes are level one and level II, simple enough to challenge an experienced beginner and challenging enough for the intermediate level.
Liza is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. She completed her training at the Amma Center and Yoga Studio in October of 2015. Liza found her love for yoga in August of 2012 while recovering from back surgery. Her personal practice has brought strength, confidence, power, patience, self-love, flexibility, and balance to her life. Liza works to challenge her students both physically and mentally on their mats while incorporating the breath and proper alignment in each class she teaches. She believes the practice of yoga is accessible to all.
Jenny started practicing yoga in 2013 and was trained in yoga instruction by Bridget Yanni. She completed her 200 hour teacher training at the Amma Center in January 2015 and her 300 hour teacher training in February 2017. As an instructor, she hopes to help her students build or increase their mind-body connection while holding fundamental alignments and experimenting with what feels best in one's body.
Jenny is also earning her Master Dagree in Social Sciences.
Sandy Muir is a 500 hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and Reiki ll Practitioner. She received her 200 hr certification in Ammayanni Yoga level I and a 300 hr Ammayanni Yoga Advanced Therapeutic here at the Amma Center. Her personal practice and teachings are gentle and compassionate. She is currently working on her Reiki Masters and GFI (Group Fitness Instructor)
Jordann began her yoga journey in 2014 after years of struggling with a monotonous workout routine. She quickly became hooked to the practice and the feeling of peace, strength, confidence, and self love it left her with. Yoga has given Jordann so much more than just the physical workout she initially searched for. She continues to incorporate all aspects of yoga into her everyday life, on and off the mat. Jordann completed her 200 hour certification through the Amma Center & Studio in October 2015. As a yoga instructor, she encourages students to find their inner source of power and peace through unifying the body and breath to overcome false limitations of the mind.
Michelle Supsic has practiced yoga for over 10 years. she has a 200hr and 300hr certification in Ammayanni Yoga level I and II. Michelle has also completed a 100-hour in-depth focus on Yin Yoga and a Yin apprenticeship. She has received introductions to therapeutic massage and Polarity Therapy, and has Reiki Level 1 certification. Much of her training has been with Bridget Yanni at the Amma Center. Michelle brings a calm energy and encourages her students to be introspective and mindful of-and present in-mind, body and spirit.
Darlene Vanasco recently moved to Philadelphia from Brooklyn. She is certified as a Yoga and Pre-natal Yoga Teacher. Darlene's goal in teaching is to inspire students to connect with the wisdom of their mind, body and spirit. Her 12-year personal Vinyasa practice, and teaching focus is on creative and balanced sequencing. She links movement with breath to create an invigorating flow while strengthening and lengthening muscles.
