Neuromuscular Integrative
Bodywork Course
Instructor: Bridget Yanni, LMT; RYT
3 Thursdays; 9am-5pm - Oct. 21st, Nov. 4th & Dec. 2nd
Neuromuscular Integrative Bodywork (NIB) was developed by Bridget Yanni over her 25 years as a bodyworker; it is an approach that works to correct neuromuscular imbalances that create chronic pain. This Course uses positional therapy, integrative-deep-tissue massage and myofascial release techniques.
This course is a series of 3 individual treatment sessions, each standing on its own; we will focus on the Neck and Shoulders; Pelvis and hip flexors & diaphragm.
1st Segment - Pelvis, iliosacral joint & Legs (8 CEUs $275)
2nd Segment - Iliopsoas & diaphragm (8 CEUs $275)
3rd Segment - Neck & Shoulders (8 CEUs $275)
Register for all 3 segments -(24 CEUs. $720)
Learning objectives: Students will: observe imbalances in the outer structure through posture observance: Identify short overbearing muscle systems and overstretched tight, weak muscles; Identify trigger points; plan a course of treatment to facilitate balance in the structural system and relieve chronic tension pain caused by a weakness in the muscle activity or an overload. Students will learn a full 1-hour Neuromuscular Integrative Bodywork session per segment; students will learn basic MET/PRT techniques to add into an already developed treatment session
Learning outcomes: Students will be able to: articulate and discuss NIB strategies with clients; assess musculoskeletal system through palpation techniques and identify target trigger points; determine optimal positions that reduce tension on points of articulation and release overloaded trigger points using positional release; apply NIB techniques to increase range of motion in restricted points of articulation; integrate and re-educate the tissue function within the muscular-skeletal system; to create a treatment plan to improve flexibility, strength and to relieve tension pain and restricted joints for a variety of clinical conditions.
